Ah, Michael Eisner. On the one hand, I want to praise him for being the man at ABC who enabled Schoolhouse Rock to be aired back in the early 1970's.
That took vision (and an FCC decree that Saturday Morning cartoons needed more educational content, but hey.)
On the other, I despise him for bringing down Disney's 1990's Renaissance with too much focus on the corporate bottom-line, and for creating a work atmosphere that was hostile to creative people. Oh yes, for turning the Disney Channel into a saccharin landfill for kids. And for turning Disney the Corporation into a monster, one that ransacks culture and sues hospitals for painting characters on their walls.
Although I suppose I should thank him for bank-rolling Julie Taymor's incredible puppet musical The Lion King.
