Mummenschanz in NYC clip

Every now and then I meet someone who has never heard of Mummenschanz. It's a one-of-a-kind Swiss mime troupe that have been around since the early 1970s. Part mime, part mid-60's Muppet. Children's shows like Captain Kangaroo permanently etched its work into my psyche. I'm not certain if it still tours -- one of the founders died and the remaining ones are getting older, but keep an eye out for them in theatre venues and on episodes of Northern Exposure and The Muppet Show.

I still don't know how those slinkies can hold onto the ball like that.
