Must...go...to...gym...
Well it was Friday, now it's Sunday. Sunny days have turned to Scotland. On Friday we gave our Digital Media teacher a laser pointer, so now he doesn't have to get up from his desk to point at the projector screen. (Of course the side effect of this will be that he gains 10 lbs). We can still use the lab next week, and we have to because our class project isn't finished. As for me, it's finally time to focus on getting income. But before then is Memorial Day. I may have plans.
Back to Friday -- dad and I drove to Point Reyes, although we took some time to look at the Puppet Exhibit in San Rafael, eat some Coldstone ice cream, and otherwise stall for time. Curator there was a young guy poet who liked the Matrix and thought puppets were cool. We arrived at our little cottage b&b thing. Lots of flowers. Hot tub. Backyward with birdfeeders. Old-fashioned bathtub. Huge feather pillows and comforter (which we promptly removed because we're allergic). So-called Belgian stove (do we heat Belgian waffles and chocolate on it?) Little fattening snacks laid around (this isn't owned by a witch, is it?) We talked to the owner, Monique (apparently not a witch, or at least of the beautiful good variety). She told us about where to go, including where to eat, so we drove. Quite a desolate area. We ate at a seafood shack (circa 1948) which was yummy. Although I got the sense that our SF waters don't support much of what we ate -- the scallops were brought in from New Zealand. We tried in vain to drive to a sunset, first to a fairly unexciting beach, then towards the lighthouse, but we turned around, headed home and watched "Regarding Henry" (which starred a little girl I used to babysit named Mikki Allen). Yesterday we ate breakfast on our patio (more fattening food, like croissants with brie), took some photos, and then tried to head out but as I tried to open the gate, this very energetic and persistent dog barked happily outside it as if to come in for some amusement. While I waited for it to go away, it ran back to a nearby house and came back with a frisbee in its mouth, tail wagging, probably saying "Maybe I wasn't specific enough...Let me in so we can play frisbee." Heh. Finally it decided we weren't good company. We drove to the visitors center, then the beach where we saw some really weird rock formations, slime oozing out of the cliffs, and windy overcast beaches. We saw an ostrich(!), some seals all hanging out on an oyster dock, rabbits, pelicans, a herd of elk, seagulls, a jellyfish, a bratty 12 year-old (who acted like he was 6), and many Korean youths.
I'm supposed to have things going on today and tomorrow but so far nothing specific. I'm hoping the details will materialize.
