In Virtual Reality, is this Free Speech? Littering? Or Object Graffiti?

Earlier I wrote about how I signed up for There, a neat 3-D chat world, that so far has the best experience I've seen.

During the Beta, I flew on my hoverpack over the Crystal Castle of Tyr:

AFTER the Beta, during Limited Release, I flew over again, only to discover this:

There.com provides users with the ability to drop PortaZones, which can contain furniture or other stuff. They restrict it in some areas, but evidently they allow the tops of public structures.
Of course I really like the functionality... Here's me and my There "girlfriend" with a portable hot tub:

But that's a hot tub. Not a billboard. I guess even in virtual spaces, space is still a limited resource, and the concept of ownership varies depending on the society. Ah well. I just hope that there will be some space left in the Universe, real or Virtual, that is not plastered with advertising.
